Potemkin Stairs

Potemkin Stairs makes use of forced perspective

These Potemkin Stairs in Odessa (Ukraine) connect the city to the harbor.

The lower step are much wider than the ones on the top, making it appear much longer when looking from the bottom. Forced perspective is a common technique in architecture.
