The Starry Night (in Africa)

Deadvlei in Namibia is a great landmark to photograph optical illusions

This amazing image looks like a painting of one of the great modern artists.

The photo was taken by nature photographer Frank Krahmer in the Deadvlei at Namib-Naukluft National Park. This is a famous landmark to photograph an optical illusion.

The orange background is a sand dune. It only looks like the sky, because of Forced Perspective.

The ‘stars’ in the orange sky are small shrubs that grow on the dunes.

The trees in Deadvlei are believed to have been dead for at least 600 years, but the extreme drought has prevented them from petrifying or decomposing.
